The grape growing sites in this vineyard were chosen to bring out the best quality in each varietal and all of the vines are pruned by hand. We dropped the first crop to increase vigor in each plant and promote better fruit. All of the rootstocks and clones were matched to the unique soil compositions in each block therefore creating the most distinction in our wines.
Perry Creek’s diverse winemaking team of Garrett Buckland, Stefan Tscheppe and Jonathan Pack combine experience from Napa, Austria and the Sierra Foothills. They share a vineyard driven approach, developing a personality and character for each wine they produce while incorporating the typicity of each varietal in every vintage. The complex, unique and elegant flavors representing Perry Creek Winery and Terroir have earned us 90 Points+ ratings in Wine Spectator, Wine Enthusiast and numerous other competitions.

The winery’s 40 acres of prime vineyards are located in the Fair Play Appellation which has an average elevation of 2500 feet and a soil composition of decomposed granite. With our balanced microclimate and unusual growing conditions we are able to produce premium grapes with a flavor distinctive of the region. Our Fair Play Farms vineyard planted in 1999 is one of the best in the entire Sierra Foothills region.
